Fall Interests
We regret that we can't take any additional Christmas repair orders right now -- so many dolls in the studio right they are all chattering at us to work on them and the noise is deafening! This weekend, we are working on a groovy favorite Old Navy sweater that someone wanted cut down to "bear size" -- cutting around the ink stains to save it as a memory doll item.

Still finding fabric for my Vogue Jill...but she has nylons with ruffled tops now. I think I will try to find an outfit on "Mad Men" to clone for her.

It's our 4th Anniversary!
Dollmaker.Biz is celebrating it's 4th year. We started this project by purchasing our domain name on this day in 2002 as a way to show off hobby dolls to friends and family. Who knew we would become this compulsive !?!

Linens and Lace
This doll is wearing a wedding cake of lace. See our most original costume design we made out of an old drawer of sentimental pillow cases, hankies and dresser scarves.

Proof that Our Dolls Dress Better Than We Do!
Somehow it is just not as much fun making clothes for ourselves as it was in high school. But we spent time finally getting most of the naked dolls clothed in the doll room this fall so they would look spiffy for holiday guests. Go see our Crissy madness and American Girl outfits. Many of these recently sold well on Ebay. We are making more to sell for spring.

Boxes, Trunks, and More Boxes
We madly finished several presentation boxes this fall and are now completely addicted. Call us or email us to have us quote a renovation of your favorite trunk doll box.

Fabric Freaks

We rescued a 100-slot cassette tape rack this year to store all of our 1/4 and 3/8 inch ribbon spools!
We are confirmed fabric and ribbon junkies. And if we can't find just the right fabric or lace for a project, we resort to painting lace or printing and making our own fabric or assembling ribbon into striped fabric. We have developed some unique techniques for accurately reproducing graphic images by computer on to washable fabric for those wild vintage 1960's Skipper and 1970's Crissy clothes. We can inkjet print a variety of specialty fabric in small batches for restoration projects. Our best results have been small prints on plain cotton batiste -- for instance to replace a damaged collar or one item of an outfit.

This turn of the century 9" China Head
came to the workshop with missing
feet...a common affliction of these dolls as little girls
would often fling their feet on tables breaking the
delicate china. We are sculpting and repairing the feet
using a new clay, restoring the sawdust body
and making a completely new wardrobe
for this special doll.

We finally finished this project!
